OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification
OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification is targeted for your organization’s leadership (team leaders through plant management) with responsibility for personnel safety, safe operations, and OSHA standards compliance. The OSHA Outreach Instructor will cover the mandatory and elective hazard awareness topics and how to reference the OSHA General Industry Standards resources. In an interactive class setting, the instructor will facilitate discussion to help you better manage and lead your organization’s safety strategies and action plans toward bottom line results.
Certification requirement: A certification card will be issued for meeting training criteria: 100% attendance for 30 hours training hours on topic, and completion of knowledge demonstration per instructor requirements.
Textbook Required: OSHA General Industry Standards 29 CFR 1910 – may be purchased in Cameron Campus Bookstore. Note: If an employer sponsors more than one participant in the same class, the employer may purchase one copy of the General Industry Standards to be shared by all participants sponsored by the employer
The 10-Hour General Industry training program
The 10-Hour General Industry training program is targeted to entry level workers, safety committee members, and individuals seeking employment and desiring a safety awareness credential. The course content includes general industry safety and health hazards which may be encountered in the workplace. Required in 7 hours of the training are an Introduction to OSHA, Walking and Working Surfaces, Emergency Action Plans and Fire Prevention/Protection, Electrical Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, and Hazard Communication. At least two additional topics from an electives list will be covered for a total of ten (10) training hours.
Certification Requirement: A certification card will be issued for 100% attendance in 10 training hours on topic, and completion of knowledge demonstration per instructor requirements.
